Spiritual Formation
Work interns at the Center for Action and Contemplation participate in approximately 10 hours of intentional spiritual formation time set aside during work hours each week. This time is intended to complement and nurture the growth of each work intern in the context of intentional community at Stillpoint. Part of the spiritual formation time is spent in morning and afternoon contemplative sit (7:40-8:10 am and 4:40-5:00pm) in the chapel at Stillpoint.
The other part of this spiritual formation time is facilitated by the formation supervisors and may include:
- Development and nurture of the work intern community
- Exploration of a variety of contemplative practices, such as journaling, walking meditation, centering prayer, and lectio divina
- Reading and reflection on Richard’s latest book, Things Hidden: Scripture as Spirituality
- Shadow work through art, mask-making, and other practices
- Group processing
- One-on-one sessions with a work intern supervisor
- Social action at St. Martin’s Hospitality Center in downtown Albuquerque
