Job Title: Development Coordinator

Overall Objective

Develops, oversees and implements comprehensive programs and activities designed to secure support from individual philanthropy, planned giving, major donors and foundations.

Authority: Reports to the Executive Director

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Effectively leads with the Executive Director to identify, cultivate, and steward new and existing relationships with major donors, leading to the generation of a least one-third of the CAC’s net revenue
  • Builds relationships and makes personal contacts with donors
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive fundraising strategy and evaluates its success
  • Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, supervises and evaluates a variety of on-going fundraising activities and programs, including, but not limited to direct mail solicitation, annual fundraising events, prospect research, major gift solicitation, grant writing, and a variety of planned and deferred giving
  • Develops ideas and willingness to bring in NEW money and resources
  • Develops and effectively manages an annual fundraising plan and detailed revenue and expense budget
  • Provides and achieves measurable annual goals as agreed to and approved by Executive Director
  • Oversees the design, production and distribution of all fundraising related communications, such as innovative online strategies as well as traditional materials like brochures and direct mail appeals
  • Coordinates communication with donors including but not limited to the immediate acknowledgment of contributions and sustained stewardship of all donor relationships
  • Understands, utilizes and ensures the accuracy of the CAC’s donor database
  • Assures the maintenance of confidential and accurate donor records as well as any records required by law or contract
  • Prepares regular reports on donations, visits, contacts and major gifts for the Executive Director and Board of Directors
  • Conduct the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources
  • Performs prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Committed to uphold the mission of the Center for Action and Contemplation
  • A minimum of five years of development/fundraising experience
  • Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors.
  • Knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies
  • Ability to work independently, manage many tasks simultaneously and prioritize successfully
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as computer literate
  • Ability to think strategically, establish annual goals, and implement effective follow-up
  • Proven ability to proactively manage timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Maintains a sustained level of energy and is flexible to the needs of the organization
  • Manage special projects as needed by the Executive Director
  • Must be willing to travel
